How To Take Care Of Your Premium Supima Tees So They Last Longer

When a T-shirt is made from premium Supima cotton and detailed artwork, it deserves better treatment than being thrown into a random wash cycle. A few small care habits can keep your LURI tees softer, sharper, and looking new for a long time.

1. Read The Care Label (And Actually Follow It)

Every LURI tee comes with care instructions for a reason. They are based on how the fabric behaves, how the print is applied, and how the colours react to water and heat. Treat that label as a quick cheat sheet: it tells you the safest water temperature, wash method, and whether you should tumble dry or not.

2. Wash Cold, Wash Inside Out

Heat is one of the fastest ways to fade colours and weaken fibres. Using cold water helps the Supima fibres stay strong and keeps the fabric from shrinking or losing shape. Turning your tee inside out before washing gives the graphic and surface a layer of protection against friction from the drum and other clothes.

3. Go Gentle On Detergent And Cycles

More detergent does not mean cleaner clothes—especially for premium cotton. Use a mild detergent and pick a gentle cycle if you are using a machine. Avoid bleach and harsh stain removers near the print area; they can dull colours and damage the artwork over time.

4. Skip The Dryer, Embrace The Shade

High-heat drying can be brutal on cotton. Air‑drying your LURI tees in the shade is the best way to keep the fibres relaxed and the print intact. Hang them or lay them flat; just avoid direct, harsh sunlight for long hours, which can slowly wash out the colours.

5. Iron With Care (Or Don’t Iron At All)

If you need to iron, do it inside out on a low to medium setting, staying off the direct print area. Many Supima tees naturally relax on a hanger after washing, so steaming or simply letting them hang can be enough to get rid of light wrinkles without touching them with a hot iron.

6. Store Them Right

How you store your tees matters too. Fold them neatly instead of stuffing them into a pile. If you hang them, use good hangers so the shoulders don’t stretch out. Keeping them in a clean, dry space prevents unwanted odours and keeps the fabric feeling fresh when you reach for it.
