LURI fabrics are independently lab-tested to ensure they stay soft, keep their shape and hold color beautifully across many wears and washes.

Our Testing Partners

  • SITRA (The South India Textile Research Association), a NABL-accredited textile laboratory, tests LURI fabrics for colour fastness, spirality and shrinkage.

  • SPR Consumer Products Services, Tiruppur, tests our production lots for dimensional stability, spirality, colour fastness and GSM (fabric weight).

What We Test For

Colour fastness

  • Rubbing (dry & wet): Fabrics achieve 4–5 grade (on a scale where 5 is best), meaning minimal to no visible colour transfer on contact.

  • Washing: Fabrics maintain shade at 4–5 grade with very low staining on other fibres, ensuring colours stay rich after repeated washes.

  • Light, perspiration & water: Rated 4–5 for change in colour and staining, so garments resist fading from sweat, water and everyday exposur

Shrinkage & spirality (twisting)

  • ISO 6330 wash tests show length and width shrinkage well within the acceptable textile tolerance band, so garments retain size and fit after washing.

  • Spirality values are close to zero after wash, meaning the garment does not twist or torque around the body, even in interlock knits

Fabric weight (GSM)

Tested GSM around 260 g/m² for our knit fabric indicates a dense, premium-weight fabric that feels substantial while remaining breathable.

Key Lab Findings (Plain Language)

  • Stays true to shade: High grades (4–5) in colour fastness to washing, rubbing, light, perspiration and water mean your garment keeps its original colour far longer than conventional tees.

  • Holds shape after wash: Controlled shrinkage and negligible spirality ensure necklines, hems and side seams remain straight without twisting or warping.

  • Feels premium on skin: Heavier GSM with soft-hand finish gives a structured yet comfortable drape that does not feel thin or see-through.

Test Methods & Standards Highlight

  • Tests performed under ISO / IS standards such as:

    • ISO 105 X12: Colour fastness to rubbing.

    • ISO 105 C10 / C06: Colour fastness to domestic washing.

    • ISO 105 B02, E01, E04: Colour fastness to light, water and perspiration.

    • ISO 6330 & ISO 16322-2: Dimensional stability and spirality after washing.

    • ISO 3801: Fabric weight (GSM).

    • ISO 3801: Fabric weight (GSM).
